I’m Vanessa and I’ve eaten addictively as long as I can remember. Today I live in food freedom, one day at a time. I offer 1-1 coaching, group programs and workshops to help you make peace with food and lose weight.
So many of us are struggling with addictive eating and losing weight despite many attempts of dieting. Because of the addictive nature of our modern foods we need to look beyond diets to achieve permanent weight loss.
My mission is to help you lose weight and make peace with food – for life.
Let me be upfront: I won’t give you a quick fix or magic bullet. I’ll support you in changing your food, mindset, emotional awareness and lifestyle in a sustainable way. Looking at your food can be uncomfortable at first but together we can turn it into a rewarding journey to transform your life – on and off the plate. I’ll be your mentor if you’re willing to do what it takes.

My initial concerns were having to give up all unhealthy foods permanently and whether this would be possible as I have had little success with this in the past. The food plan and the daily accountability with Vanessa were a great help. Once I made the decision to do whatever it takes I have been free from food and weight obsession. I am so much healthier now, have lost 18.7 kgs in just over 3 months, and I am no longer at risk of type 2 diabetes i.e. my insulin level is down from 25.19 to 6.10 today! I feel great today and know that my future no longer is about trying to fill the emptiness that only God can fill, with food or other things. With the ongoing support of a 12 Step Food Program and sponsor my future is looking brighter than ever and it is not dependent on what I weigh or how I feel but what I know works if I work for it, 1 day at a time!
Throughout the coaching I found Vanessa to be a good listener, non judgemental, willing to follow where I needed to go and great at creating space for me to figure out things for myself. Within the process of the sessions there were times when I had to face some hard truths about myself and my behaviour. I found Vanessa to be a powerful ally in this process – allowing me to face my truth. She stood by me and bore witness to it. I feel that as a result of these sessions I am much more open to life and to adventure and willing to say a resounding YES to whatever comes my way.
Working with Vanessa has been a great blessing to me. She has been remarkably supportive, gentle and compassionate. Aside from her vast experience and professionalism, Vanessa is a great insightful listener. I really feel heard, and that has been key to my trusting the coaching process. And she has fantastic, creative ideas that I’ve found eye-opening, simple and practical. During our sessions together offered numerous tips and suggestions on how to effectively manage my issues. It has been a wonderful experience I have really appreciated.
The most powerful ingredient of Vanessa’s coaching program is Vanessa herself as a recovered food addict. Vanessa’s sessions were full of wonderful, informative, educational and useful information. I felt like Vanessa had put in the hard yards in regard to researching information and techniques to solve her own food problem and is now able to pass it on to others. Vanessa’s insights have helped me a lot. I had not realised the limiting beliefs that I created about myself were actually the biggest obstacles that were holding me back for years.
